Gary Rowberry Undergoes Open Heart Surgery

Update: (11/22): Talked with Gary today and he’s getting ready to check out of the hospital and go back to his apartment.? He said he’s feeling really good with minimal pain and everything is looking good. He’s going to start cardiac rehab to build himself up. He can’t drive for 6 weeks.? ?Once he gets his heart built back up he’ll undergo the hip replacement and said he’ll be as mean and ugly as ever and good for another 30 years.? He wants to thank everyone for their well wishes, thoughts and prayers.? He’s hoping to be able to come back to St. Louis around Christmas but if not, by February for sure.

Rick Walton Killed in Crash

Glutton Brother Rick Walton was killed in a car crash?around 5 pm Sunday afternoon October 8, 2017.? Details are sketchy but apparently, he was on his way home from a benefit for a friend in the St. Charles area when he lost control of his truck on I-70 near Dave & Busters and went off the road and hit a tree. Rick was not thrown from the vehicle as first reported.? He had his seatbelt on.?

GMVB 2017 – Another Great Day!

The 33rd Annual Glutton Mud Volleyball Tournament was a rousing success at every level. ?Perfect weather greeted 60 teams as they volleyed for the prized pig trophies and the right to call themselves champions! ?

Thanks to everyone who participated and everyone who volunteered to help put on another successful tournament. ?Also thanks to the sponsors that supported the tournament and to the people who donated items for the Silent Auction. ?Thank?you!

Bertie Taylor undergoes heart surgery

Bertie Lopez Bridges/Taylor, or Scott Taylor’s wife for short, underwent?a heart valve replacement surgery this morning (Monday) at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park?Ridge IL (Chicago area).

Hospital Address: Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, 1775 Dempster St., Park Ridge, IL 60068

Everything went as expected and Bertie is expected to remain in the hospital for about a week before she can go home.

Elenore ‘Momma’ McGuire Dead at 91

?We’re sad to report that ‘Momma’ McGurie passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2017, after a brief illness. ?

Mom McGuire was the Mother of founding members Dan and Don McGuire. ?As the name ?Momma? McGuire indicates, she was, in many ways, a second Mother to us all. ??She was made an Honorary Member of the Gluttons in 1971.

A simple private funeral will be held on Thursday, June 15, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Gluttons Club from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday.


Momma McGuire Under Hospice Care

Got the sad news today that Elenore ‘Momma’ McGurie is going under hospice care. ?She has undergone surgery on her kidneys a couple of times recently but it apparently isn’t working. She has other non-treatable problems and the outlook isn’t good.

Momma McGuire,?91, has been an honorary member of the Gluttons since 1971. ?Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire?McGuire family.


Memorial Day Pignic

The 47th annual Glutton Memorial Day Pignic will take place this Sunday, May 28, 1017. ?People generally start arriving around 11 or 12 and it usually goes until the wee hours of Monday morning. ?

There’ll be food and drink, games, laughter, and lies told by the keg as we kick off the summer season at the Glutton Club. ?Don’t miss it!

The menu will include the usual: pork steaks, chicken breasts, brats, hot dogs, baked potatoes, baked beans, veggies, corn on the cob, coleslaw, chips and dips, beer and soda and maybe a dessert or two.

Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for non-drinkers and kids 6 to 20, with kids under 6 FREE. ?Bring the family and we’ll see you Sunday.
